“The obedience aversion of the Western church has blinded many of us to the remarkable promises God has tied to obedience. These are equally available to us, to those we train to follow and obey Jesus, and to those they train.”
Here is a sampling of the Scriptural benefits of obedience:

I know Robby Butler from my time of service at the US Center for World Mission. Robby is a mission mobilizer, laboring faithfully to increase laborers for the plentiful harvest. See his website at: themissionnetwork.org
Of course, salvation is by grace alone. There is no volume of good works that we might pile up to make any sort of payment against the debt of sin. Jesus saves us from sin, puts in us a new spirit, and empowers us to do good works which we previously had no power to do. Although our works are always short of perfect motives, yet God regards and rewards our faith and obedience. “It is God who is at work in you both to do and to will for His good pleasure!”
Related to obedience is the ICCP topic Church Discipline and my article on the Church Discipline document.
