Dear Praying Friends,
This is a medical update from Eugene Clingman, Executive Administrator of the International Church Council Project. We are continuing the fight, diminishing in confidence in the flesh, and by His grace growing in trusting the Lord, loving people and serving Christ’s purpose.
Of me, and of you, if you are in Jesus, it is said:
“Surely he will never be shaken;
The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance.
He will not be afraid of evil tidings;
His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD."

Sometimes they had to fight their way past Orcs. Their progress was tedious, and without hope. They pressed on. They’re companionship was their most cherished possession. The memory of the other members of the “fellowship” comforted and drew out commitment and strength…One night as Edna and I were falling asleep, I shared with her how I see our struggle as a bit like Frodo and Sam on their journey to Mount Doom. I said, “Remember Frodo and Sam, and how difficult was their journey to Mount Doom?” We mused how that covenantally-bound duo strained to make progress: most of the time bone-weary, without good food, without proper rest, without water; sometimes crawling on all-fours; at least once Sam carried Frodo. They did whatever the situation and circumstance called for, pouring out every ounce of strength, hope was rung dry; they continued not because they were confident of success, but for covenant sake – They remembered their promise to one another and to the partners of the of the Fellowship of the Ring. I said to Edna, “Our struggle reminds me of theirs. Here we are, the joy of life does not keep us going, neither the hope of success (we don’t know what the future holds). We continue because of God’s promises to us, and our promises to God, and to each another."
In the midst of struggle the grace of God is rich; we are upheld by His good Spirit. And He is supporting us “out of Zion” (Ps. 117) by the kindness, love, and sacrifice of His people, and by His gracious and sustaining Spirit.
“The LORD is for me among those who help me…”
Edna (my wife of 12 years) and I are currently at Oasis of Hope Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico (June 1-14). Why Mexico? Because the “United States powers that be” (American Medical Association, the FDA, laws put in place by the pressure/influence of powerful pharmaceutical companies that want to protect their interest in chemo therapy drugs, etc.) do not allow certain proven and effective treatments to be used in the US. Certain natural, effective treatments are AGAINST the LAW in the US, while those same powers that be continue to allow “US approved” drugs to kill people left and right.
On June 2 we had a consultation with the Dr. Contreras and Dr. Cicena (the two chief oncology doctors at Oasis). They compared recent MRI scans taken about 30 days apart and confirm that the brain tumor (one of two) that the surgeon decided to not operate on) has shrunk as the surgeon said. These two Oasis doctors say that if this current season of treatments proves as effective as the last evidently were, it will most likely be safe to not have radiation therapy that hospital back in Missouri has recommended as an essential after-surgery-precaution. They are currently waiting for the results of blood tests and there will be a subsequent scan that will tell us more.
In a nutshell: I am feeling a tiny bit better and stronger each day. My vision seems to be improving also. Many are praying and asking God for full recovery. We ask this while we also bow to His kind sovereignty, for we trust that these “momentary light afflictions are producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison!”
Our expenses are more than our income at this time. We would be grateful for your help. There are two places you can make a donation on the internet (links below), or you can mail directly to:

Other prayer needs:
• That the treatments I am currently receiving daily at Oasis of Hope will be effective and healing.
• Blessing and safety for our children who are with dear friends during our time in Mexico.
• Grace, strength, joy for my dear wife Edna.
• Return of vision and strength so that I may return to my labors.
• Complete eradicating of the cancer by God’s grace and mercy and by whatever measure He is pleased to use the proven treatments I am currently receiving. Oasis believes that no matter how effective the treatments, “all healing comes from God”.
God’s grace to you and yours!
