“When I read Deuteronomy 6:6-8, I see God exhorting parents and all who teach children to consider every moment that we are with children as teachable moments.
In other words, we are to be on the lookout for opportunities to give personal testimony and examples of God’s marvelous mercy and grace, or to point out examples of God’s marvelous mercy and grace, or to point out His spectacular power and majesty, or to identify His unfailing love and sovereign rule of all creation. We are also to make sure such moments occur in the course of our daily activities with our children.
Speaking through Moses, God makes it very clear that parents are to use every chance they have–when they sit, walk, lie down, and rise up again–to talk with their children about God’s greatest commandment, the command to love Him with all our heart and all our soul and all our might.”
